Communication, Review, and Enforcement
- Each Initiative member will specify a "Customer Communication Officer."
- This Web site contains a form for reporting any issues with the supply of flu vaccine.
- Providers may communicate directly with individual distributors, or via the Flu Vaccine Business Practices Initiative Web site www.flusupplynews.com.
- The Web page will ask providers to give details of the problem, providers will also be asked to supply their name, their location, the distributor's name, and a brief explanation of the problem.
- The Initiative will forward all communication to the appropriate Flu Vaccine Business Practices Initiative member or other provider. In order to remain in good standing, the distributor must track and report problem resolution. Aggregated problem resolution data will be published and made available on the Web site.
- Failure to address the complaint, or if the complainant disagrees with the resolution, can result in a referral to the Dispute Resolutions Committee (DRB).
- The Initiative has established criteria, for recinding certification. This criteria includes the number of complaints unanswered and unresolved. A complainant may appeal to the Dispute Resolutions Board if he/she feels the resolution of their complaint is unsatisfactory. The DRB will review the facts of the case and either concur with the company action or recommend an alternative action. Failure to comply with the recommended action is grounds for rescinding certification.
- A summary of all provider communication to distributors via the Initiative Web site will be made available at the end of the flu season.
